Interactive touch table for the Citadelle of Lille

The Citadelle of Lille, also known as the “Queen of Citadels”, designed by Vauban and built by the orders of Louis XIV the ‘Sun King,” is located in the west side of the city of Lille. Due to its strategic location, it was conceived as a French defense fortification for the border of Flanders.

Five bastions surround this Citadelle, forming a star-shaped fortification, which now serves as a cultural center, with nearby parks and gardens, a zoo, and other attractions.

To present this site’s history, the Citadelle chose Wezit to complete a touch table proposing several tours with themed points of interests for visitors to explore. These themed tours, rich in topics and information distributed throughout the POI’s (which can be customized).

Before the tours start, visitors can choose their favorite tours, and add them in the “visiting portfolio” creating a kind of ‘wishlist’. During the visit, it is possible to add new elements to the existing POI selection. As for the after-the-visit component, the option of sending your wish list via email using your mobile device adds an effortless and practically continuum visit feature.

This feature is very useful for users and different types of visitors, in the event visitors ran out of time and need to leave the site; they can always return and refer to where they left off.
